Sonam Kapoor is yet to make a mark in Bollywood. Her first film, Saawariya, bombed at the box-office.
And even before she can prove herself with her second, Delhi-6, the actress has been offered another big-budget film, Come on Papu,
In which she will star opposite Akshay Kumar.
A source close to Akshay Kumar said, “Sonam Kapoor has not signed the film yet. But she has read the script and talks are on. However, there is much time left as Akki will start shooting for the film some time in August.”
The source also revealed that Akki plans on sticking to comedy after the failure of Chandni Chowk to China.
The source said, “After the debacle of Chandni Chowk to China, Akki is being really cautious about his films. He plans on sticking to comedy for the moment, leaving action films behind.”
The source also revealed that Sonam, if she signs the film, won’t exactly be playing the lead opposite Akshay. In fact, it will be a chimpanzee. He said, “The film is a comedy and the film is about the protagonist’s relationship with a chimpanzee.”
This film will be directed by Rohit Dhawan, the son of David Dhavan. The Rs.90-crore project is a joint venture between Percept Pictures and Akshay Kumar.
